Together with the Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA), we represent the speciality sector on the International Coffee Organization's Private Sector Consultative Board. We take positions to defend coffee quality and to ensure a fair deal for everyone, and our voice is heard! We spearheaded the drive, now taken up by the ICO, to develop alternative uses for poor quality coffee and to remove it from the world market.

DESIGNED TO INTRODUCE CORE BARISTA SKILLS TO PEOPLE WITH NO PREVIOUS BARISTA EXPERIENCE.

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES SHOULD BE ABLE TO SIMPLY CALIBRATE THEIR GRINDERS AND MAKE AN ESPRESSO AND CAPPUCCINO TO CORE STANDARDS.

3 HOURS THEORY:

  • Introduction: SCAE , Coffee Diploma Systems and Barista Skills Modules
  • Senosry and Tasting coffee
  • Differentiated types of coffee beans
  • Coffee equipmets
  • Extraction and Brewing fundamental
  • Espresso : how to pull a good espresso shot
  • Working with milk: theory and technique
  • Cleaning and maintaining coffee equipments
  • Coffee beans storage

3 HOURS PRACTICAL:

  • Tasting espresso
  • Espresso extraction
  • Espresso calibration
  • Milk frothing
  • Prepare different types of coffee drinks
  • Coffee machine maintainance

* Theory Exam: 1/2 Hour
* Practical Exam: 1/2 Hour
* Reviewing And Evaluating Score Sheet: 15 Mins
